AquaGen Technologies
AquaGen is a technology company specialising in solutions to deliver renewable ocean energy. AquaGen Technologies is developing a wave power technology called SurgeDrive. This technology captures the wave energy from point absorber buoyancy units and transfers the pure wave forces out of the water via tension transfer elements. The 'out-of-water' Energy Conversion Module then converts the wave forces into electricity or desalinated water. The advantage of this technology is that by removing the more complex equipment of the system from the water, the maintenance and hence generating costs are significantly reduced whilst the storm survivability of the system is greatly enhanced. The system has been proven in scale model testing and more recently in our first open water demonstration unit on Lorne pier in Victoria. Please refer to our website for further information.
