Tony has had a long and varied career in BP Solar. He has an engineering background, and has been instrumental in leading the company in the development and deployment of ‘frontier’ or leading-edge PV developments in the countries that he has worked. Tony has been responsible for developing a number of iconic or landmark PV projects in Australia and more recently in Asia, worthy of note are the Newington Housing development (Sydney), CSIRO Energy centre (Newcastle) and The Queen Victoria Markets project.
Overseas, Tony pioneered the 1st large-scale grid-connected Commercial building projects in both Korea and China, the Donghae 1MW plant and the Shenzhen Green Gardens buildings respectively. Tony has also been active in policy development in both China and Korea encouraging the right incentives to mainstream PV uptake in those countries.
In representing BP Solar, Tony recognises the responsibility to also represent Solar Distributors, Dealers and Installer members as well as other solar technologies. Through the global BP Solar group, Tony is able to bring a wealth of international experience, and similarly has established relationships with the Government at a number of levels which will complement relationships held within the CEC. Tony has represented both the Company and also been the Australian representative in a number of forums, including the Asia Pacific Partnership on Climate and Clean Development Renewable Energy.
Tony would welcome the opportunity to join the Board to continue the passion and dedication of his predecessor, Brooke Miller, and maintain the drive to develop sustainable energy solutions in Australia.
