Policy Manager - Clean Energy Council
The Clean Energy Council (CEC) is the peak body for the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector. With ongoing growth in the membership of the CEC and the number and complexity of policy issues facing the clean energy industry, the CEC is looking to increase its policy capability through the recruitment of a Policy Manager.
The position will be full-time, based in the CEC’s Melbourne office.
Remuneration: a competitive salary and benefits package is available with this position.
This role is a senior position in the CEC policy team. The person in the role will lead the development and delivery of policy for one or more clean energy technology areas. A key focus of the role will be supporting our work on solar PV.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing the relevant CEC Technology Directorates
• Liaison and engagement with CEC members
• Engaging with relevant external stakeholders including state and federal government and media where appropriate
• Development and delivery of strategies for technologies in consultation with members and other CEC staff
• Production of policy papers, submissions and responses to relevant consultations.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Tertiary education in business, political studies or economics
• Demonstrated understanding and experience of the clean energy industry - experience in the solar PV sector would be viewed favourably
• Strong experience in policy development
• Understanding of the workings of government
• Excellent written and verbal communications.

Policy Researcher - Clean Energy Council

The position will be full-time, based in the CEC’s Melbourne office. This role provides research support to the CEC policy team across a range of issues and technologies. A key focus of the role will be supporting our work on solar PV.

Key Responsibilities:
• Production of research papers as directed by policy team
• Tracking of relevant consultations, drafting submissions
• Updating of fact sheets and other policy information on the website
• Managing responses to member and consumer inquiries.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Tertiary education in relevant subject: energy, environment, business, government, politics or experience working in similar organisation: energy, government, industry association
• Demonstrated research ability and ability to present results in clear and concise manner
• Demonstrated ability to provide concise and accurate written material
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Some understanding of the renewable energy sector (solar and/or wind in particular) would be viewed favourably.

Account Manager – Solar Industry

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's distributors, develop relationships and demonstrate the value proposition to various end users
- Grow sales in the territory through increasing our business versus our competitors with current customers, open new accounts where applicable, and assisting current distributors in helping them to grow our businesses mutually
- Implementing programs from agreed strategies
- Managing and influencing the implementation of these strategies through sales functions and channels
- Monitoring competitor activity and reporting back to management
- Working with technical teams to implement trials to increase sales
- This position will require approximately 30% travel.
The qualified candidate will also excel in these areas:
- History of achieving sales goals in a quota system and flexibility to achieve set goals
- Business to business sales/cold calling experience
- Ability to create and present professional sales presentations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including forecasting, negotiation and influencing skills
- Being self-motivated and organized are essential
- Degree qualification preferably in Bachelor of Engineering/Science/Photovoltaic/Telecommunications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the solar PV industry in Australia
- Sales experiences and a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets in the past.
