Launch of the CEC's Policy Roadmap for Large-Scale Solar in Australia

The Clean Energy Council officially launched its 'Policy Roadmap for Large-Scale Solar in Australia' on Friday 9 September 2011.

Over the past six months the CEC has been consulting with developers, financiers and policymakers alike to develop a Policy Roadmap for the large-scale solar sector in Australia.

The report makes recommendations for policymakers on the effective policy settings to facilitate project deployment and to establish a vibrant industry here in Australia, drawing on case studies of international experiences and an assessment of the barriers to local deployment.

Attendees heard from industry experts on the latest developments in the industry and the findings of the Roadmap, including:

  • The Hon. Martin Ferguson AM MP, Minister for Energy
  • The Clean Energy Council on the key findings of the Roadmap
  • Bloomberg New Energy Finance on project deployment internationally
  • The Australian Solar Institute on the latest research priorities
  • The CSIRO on latest advancements in technology and Australia’s comparative advantage
