Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP)

Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP) aims to meet Partnership goals through international cooperation to facilitate the development, diffusion, deployment, and transfer of existing, emerging and longer term cost-effective, cleaner, more efficient technologies and practices among the Partners through concrete and substantial cooperation so as to achieve practical results. The Renewable Energy & Distributed Generation (REDG) Task Force industry representatives recently agreed that the REDG Task Force should aim to pursue transformational policy changes to provide comprehensive and long term drivers for the development and deployment of renewable energy technologies. While specific project support and partnerships (the focus of much of the REDG Task Force focus to date) are constructive, there remain significant market barriers to the deployment of renewable energy in many partner countries.
