Energy Purchase and Supply

Methane is supplied to the electricity generation plant from the adjacent landfill site. The plant is grid connected with the power produced sold to the local electricity retailer ACTEW Energy.

The plant operates base-load and is registered as a non-market, non-scheduled generator in the National Electricity Market.

Environmental Impact

The power produced from the plant is designated renewable.

The project results in carbon dioxide emissions savings of approximately 50,000 tonnes per annum. This figure includes the capture of fugitive emissions.
