According to Sustainability Victoria, if you have a solar water heater in Melbourne, this week you would have cut your greenhouse gas emissions and your hot water costs by 47%.

Extension messages:

If all Victorian homes had a solar water heater, this week Victoria would have cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 41,960 tonnes.

That is equivalent to;
    505,000 cars off the road this week... OR
    850 million black balloons... OR
    2.0% of Victoria's greenhouse gases from energy.

According to Sustainability Victoria, if you have a solar water heater in Melbourne, this year you would have cut your greenhouse gas emissions and your hot water costs by 77%.

Extension messages:

And if all Victorian homes had a solar water heater, so far this year Victoria would have cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 1,699,000 tonnes.

That is equivalent to;
    705,000 cars off the road for the period since January 1... OR
    34.00 billion black balloons... OR
    3.2% of Victoria's greenhouse gases from energy.
