Solar hot water report for Week 27 January to 2 February 2012

According to Sustainability Victoria, if you have a solar water heater in Melbourne, this week you would have cut your greenhouse gas emissions and your hot water costs by 96%.

If all Victorian homes had a solar water heater, this week Victoria would have cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 61,750 tonnes.

That is equivalent to;
    745,000 cars off the road this week... OR
    1.25 billion black balloons... OR
    3.3% of Victoria's greenhouse gases from energy.

According to Sustainability Victoria, if you have a solar water heater in Melbourne, this year you would have cut your greenhouse gas emissions and your hot water costs by 93%.

And if all Victorian homes had a solar water heater, so far this year Victoria would have cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 229,040 tonnes.

That is equivalent to;
    585,000 cars off the road for the period since January 1... OR
    4.60 billion black balloons... OR
    3.2% of Victoria's greenhouse gases from energy.
