The Clean Energy Council will hold an invitation-only roundtable focused on exploring recent success and future challenges/opportunities for the development of large-scale solar in Australia.

Large-scale solar has smashed all expectations and now stands on the cusp of becoming one of the lowest cost forms of large-scale energy generation in the world. The opportunities and benefits to the Australian economy, our transitioning manufacturing sector, regional economies and the energy sector are significant.

With all of this progress and development, the Clean Energy Council is revising the Large-Scale Solar Roadmap (originally developed in 2011) to recognise the success and progress of the sector and guide the next chapter of its development. The updated roadmap will be delivered to the incoming Government after the upcoming federal election and used to support industry advocacy for the suite of policy support and reforms necessary to further unlock this exciting opportunity.

The roundtable discussion will inform the development of the updated roadmap. Topics of focus will include:

  • Energy markets and commercial case.
  • Financing large-scale solar developments.
  • Technology innovation and R&D priorities.
  • Construction and supply chain development.
  • Network connection and system integration.
  • Planning and community engagement.

This event is strictly by invitation only. CEC Corporate and Sponsor members and key solar industry stakeholders will be invited.
