Overview
This procedure details the process and work requirements for inspection on commissioning and hand-over of a Stand-alone Power System (SPS).
The Checklist includes mandatory requirements and recommendations from relevant Australian Standards.
It has been developed as a guide for the installer and inspector.
The Installation Checklist has been designed to be used by .
- Industry-accredited personnel on commissioning of a SPS installation
- Electrical Inspectors and State energy department personnel on inspection of a completed SPS installation

If you're a BCSE Accreditated Installer you MUST have a copy of these standards.
Process
All work should be checked either
- during the performance of the installation task itself
- after the completion of an installation task
or
- on commissioning of the completed installation
Work Instruction
All inspection work must be carried out in accordance with site safety requirements and with due regard to the risk areas in Stand-alone Power
Systems, such as
Work at height - PV arrays and Wind turbines
Battery banks - Personal protection equipment for liquid electrolyte
- High prospective fault currents
LV wiring - Suitably qualified electrical workers only
