There’s a simple reason that some media outlets may accentuate the positive on renewable energy – it is supported by the vast majority of Australians.

It is high farce for the Institute of Public Affairs to be lecturing anyone about bias and open-mindedness (“Environment of fear as ABC fails bias test”, 12/8). In his opinion piece for The Australian, James Paterson of the IPA chose to highlight a single flawed study on the Renewable Energy Target released by the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is in contradiction to five other studies this year that show the policy will deliver substantial investment and jobs – including one by the government’s hand-picked consultancy ACIL Allen. He certainly doesn’t reflect the weight of evidence, something he criticises Aunty for in his paper.
