Welcome to our interim Clean Energy Council website, set up and growing while the election is on. New content
will be added regularly and the foundation organisation sites will be amalgamated into finished Council site over the coming months.
The Clean Energy Council is the peak organisation representing the clean energy industry. It was formed through the amalgamation of the Australian
Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and the Australian Wind Energy Association (Auswind).
The Clean Energy Council is a member-based industry association that represents businesses ready to innovate, invest and - most importantly – act,
to safely and reliably meet Australia’s energy needs while lowering greenhouse emissions. Our 400 member organisations cover a quarter of Australia’s
total electricity production - a broad spectrum of organisations involved in renewable energy, gas, energy efficiency, distributed energy and
greenhouse abatement markets more generally.
As a member, you will join more than 400 leading organisations that enjoy the unique range of benefits we provide: helping members to understand,
prepare and compete effectively amidst the rapid changes developing in Australia's sustainable energy markets, and helping them harness the new
opportunities.
By becoming a member, your organisation will support our policy and reform activities with policy makers and opinion leaders. To maximise our effectiveness in this area, we initiate market and economic research and analysis, briefings, submissions and other key activities. These initiatives are directly leading to the development and growth of our industry, which will provide significant long-term benefits for you.
The Clean Energy Council's lobbying activities are aimed at ensuring that policy measures are implemented to support these technologies to deliver a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for Australia.
