    Synergy is proud to be Western Australia’s largest provider of gas and electricity to more than one million residential, business and industry customers. We operate as an energy retailer in an area known as the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) that extends from Kalbarri in the north, east to Kalgoorlie-Boulder and south to Albany.

    Our recent merger with Verve Energy means Synergy is now also Western Australia’s leading power generator with an extensive and diverse portfolio of power stations around the state. Synergy owns and operates four major power stations - Kwinana, Cockburn, Pinjar and Muja - while a fifth, Collie Power Station, is owned by us and operated by a private company. Our four smaller power stations are situated at Mungarra, West Kalgoorlie and Geraldton, and a joint venture power station at Worsley Alumina near Collie.

    The State Government determines Synergy's generation capacity which is currently capped at 3000 megawatt and we produce about 10,000 gigawatts of electricity each year, or about 55 per cent of all the electricity in the WA market.
