Speakers from Tesla and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) will head up the first event of the Australian Energy Storage Leadership Series in Melbourne next week, lifting the lid on the state of play for the hotly-anticipated storage revolution.
Economist Annabel Wilton has been spearheading the solar and storage work by leading analysts Bloomberg New Energy Finance and will appear as the keynote speaker, providing an in-depth look at the local market opportunities currently available.
Annabel will be joined by Warwick Johnston from solar and storage experts Sunwiz, Tesla’s regional Business Development Manager Lara Olsen and ARENA’s Investment Director Dan Sturrock.
Together they will look at consumer demand, various business models and expected future pricing based on current trends.
The Melbourne event at Rydges Hotel will be followed by a Sydney forum in March zooming in on consumer protection and engagement. From there the Clean Energy Council series will visit Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in the months ahead.
Clean Energy Council Director of Smart Energy Darren Gladman said the 2017 Australian Energy Storage Leadership Series will bring together leading policymakers, regulators, analysts and industry leaders to discuss some of the biggest topics confronting the industry.
“Subjects discussed at the forums will range from the current market opportunities to getting the regulations right, protecting consumers and how storage can support both the power grid and the increased use of renewable energy such as solar and wind power,” Mr Gladman said.
“Energy storage such as home battery systems has the potential to revolutionise the way energy is produced, stored and used.”
