International Alliances

The Clean Energy Council is an active member of a number of international alliances. The Council uses these alliances to promote the wider market and business opportunities for Australia.

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is the global forum for the wind energy sector, uniting the wind industry and its representative associations. GWEC’s mission is to ensure that wind power establishes itself as one of the world’s leading energy sources, providing substantial environmental and economic benefits. The Clean Energy Council is a Board Member of the GWEC.

The International Council for Sustainable Energy (ICSE) is an alliance of the Australian Clean Energy Council and the European, United Kingdom and United States Business Councils for Sustainable Energy. Together we represent a considerable number of companies with a commercial interest in the expansion of global sustainable energy and energy efficiency markets. View website

The Council signed an international agreement with the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) – a first between the two countries. The cooperative clean tech agreement strengthens Australia’s ties with Korea and will drive investment and development in clean tech between both nations. View website

The Clean Energy Council and the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) have signed an international cooperative agreement in Singapore, marking an important step forward in the strategic alliance of the two emerging industries. The agreement facilitates clean energy companies in Australia working more closely with their counterparts in Singapore to help drive regional investment and clean tech development in Asia.
