Building Powerlines for Renewable Energy Developments

Powerlines 4

The Community Engagement Guidelines for Building Powerlines for Renewable Energy Developments outline expectations for how proponents and contractors involved in building network connections should engage with communities throughout the process.

As Australia’s electricity generation becomes cleaner and more distributed, we will need new investment in poles and wires to deliver power to consumers from the next generation fleet of clean power stations.

The Clean Energy Council has prepared these guidelines to support good community engagement practices by proponents as they plan and develop powerline projects.

The guidelines are also intended to serve as a useful resource for local governments, landholders and communities who have a new powerline being planned within their region.
