About the Executive Ready course

Delivered part-time over seven months, Executive Ready challenges mid-level leaders to consider the strategic importance of their role, rapidly propelling them towards executive level performance, behaviours and mindsets.

  • Duration: 7 Months (part-time)
  • Commitment: 2 hours per week (average)
  • Delivery Format: Online
  • Activities: 360 Degree assessment​, virtual workshops, applied and self-directed learning, peer group interaction​, peer coaching
  • Pathway: 4 units of credit towards Deakin’s internationally accredited MBA

Executive Ready Typical Candidate:

  • Mid/Senior level leader
  • Has prior experience in leadership and wants to build upon their skills to progress to roles with more senior responsibility
  • Interested in the development of their people and driving performance.

Please note:
- Applications for this course will close midnight  Sunday 10 September 2023, or earlier if we reach our application limit (the Scholarship has been extremely popular in previous years). Successful applicants will be announced in October 2023.

- Shortlisted candidates will need to be available for online interviews between 9th-13th October.

- For successful candidates there will be a non-compulsory networking event on the evening of 24th October in Melbourne and complimentary tickets to the Women in Renewables lunch at All Energy (Melbourne) on 25th October.

  • A one-page cover letter addressing the eligibility and selection criteria
  • A copy of your current curriculum vitae clearly outlining your time in eligible industries
  • A one-page reference letter that: attests your referees’ confidence in your ability to successfully complete the requirements of the program; explains how this program will support your career progression; and shares anything else they may deem relevant to your application.

Eligibility and selection criteria

To be eligible to apply for the Executive Ready course you must:

  1. Be currently employed in a field relating to renewable energy, energy management (including energy efficiency and demand response) or carbon abatement
  2. Have a minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in one of the above fields
  3. Identify as a woman, and not have received a Clean Energy Council Scholarship within the last two years (Note: this criterion does not need to be addressed in your cover letter)
  4. Have a demonstrated commitment to being a leader in the clean energy industry
  5. Have a desire to accelerate your career towards senior and executive level performance
  6. Have a clear idea of how completing this scholarship will support your professional development
