About the Role

Reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager, the Commercial Manager will help shape the commercial approach the business takes and ultimately lead the realization of the value of the project pipeline by working alongside our Development Managers to ensure that RES’ wind, solar and storage projects are structured effectively, bankable and valuable.

About You

You will be a proven leader who has exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure with high levels of accuracy and atention to detail. Engaging effectively with industry technical experts, applying professional relationships and external expertise to develop successful collaborations will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial requirements for the project closing processes, including the project management of the closing process.

• Ensure the closing process is well managed, with clear and robust project management of all project stream / deliverables, including implementing effective management plans for key commercial and project risks.

• Lead the review of the key bankability concerns that wind, solar and storage projects face when in the early, medium and final stages of development.

• Gradually become an expert on the key project documents (EPC, O&M, Grid, PPA, Share Sale Agreements, Syndicated Facility Agreements) in order to ensure the contracts speak to each other and contain terms that will be acceptable to equity and debt partners.

• Attend key external negotiations of key project documents.

• Work with the Senior Commercial Manager to take ownership of all of the contractual and commercial gaps between the key project documents in order to ensure the project has a bankable position to take to market.

• Develop working relationships at all levels in the organisation including with Executive Leadership Team.

• Maintain networks and relationships with key energy industry representatives and external stakeholder

• Promote and pursue excellence in health and safety compliance across the business and with external stakeholders.

• Act as an exemplary role model to encourage the avoidance of risk taking behaviours across the business and provide the personal commitment never to "risk it".

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum graduate level degree in Engineering, Law, Finance or similar

• Experience taking large scale renewable energy projects, Infrastructure projects or power generation projects from conception to completion

• Able to make decisions assessing complex commercial and technical inputs;

• Capable of assessing risks and formulating action plans;

• Senior stakeholder management;

• Proven negotiator

• Demonstrates strategic leadership capabilities

• Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant Australian standards and regulations
