Vestas have a unique and notable opportunity to join our enthusiastic sales development team based at our Melbourne office as a Commercial Manager.

Region APC > Sales APAC > Sales AU/NZ

Our Commercial Sales team for Australia and New Zealand is responsible for all sales related activities from early engagement with customers, developing our value proposition and negotiation of new contracts for wind farms throughout the region. 

The Commercial Manager is the customer interface for all new turbine and wind farm sales and will add value by securing new customers and driving the closure of new contracts at prices and terms that will provide favourable returns to Vestas.  

In this role you will be an integral part of complex projects supporting our various key departments in developing tailored solutions with Vestas technologies within our region.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow the sales pipeline and establish key connections externally to customers and investors
  • Develop, organise and implement the sales strategy and capture plan for each account 
  • Grow the relationship with customers, develop solutions to meet their needs and ensure customer satisfaction  
  • Project and coordinate the sales process throughout the bidding process, ensuring timely passage through the stages of the sales process
  • Coordinate tenders and negotiations - ensuring closing on contracts within targets for revenue and margins
  • Mobilise, coach, and supervise the extended sales team consisting of core internal functions

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, law, or finance 
  • 5+ years of sales management or project management experience, ideally within wind energy, power plants, infrastructure, or the construction industry 
  • Experience with commercial negotiations of large complex projects 
  • Experience with sales processes and have experience in delivering results in a complex organization selling large-scale projects, with the ability to translate this knowledge into a contractual context
