Project Development Manager

As the Project Development Manager, you will be part of the business development team, working with various consultants to navigate a portfolio of renewable energy projects through planning and approvals phases.

The role will be based in Sydney but will involve overnight travel to regional and interstate project sites.

Key Requirements

• Focus on renewable energy and BESS developments, both internal portfolios and external assets, drawing on existing skills, expertise and industry relationships
• Effectively manage project development with internal team & external specialists to complete development tasks according to agreed schedule & budget up to Financial Close
• Effectively manage commercial negotiations with consultants, network companies, service and equipment providers for infrastructure asset development projects
• Work with internal team when required in all aspects of Financial Close, including due diligence, project analysis, consortium discussions, financing, and managing internal approvals for successful delivery in a timely manner
• Research & assess development assets in targeted market areas to identify project opportunities that meet the company’s criteria
• Expand & maintain existing network of contacts and information sources to ensure timely access to information on market activities and potential business development opportunities
• Support the company’s growth strategy by successfully developing and implementing programs and plans that deliver suitable infrastructure assets with cost-effective long-term alliances for operation and maintenance service contracts
• Communicate and influence cross-functionally with all levels of management within the company

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in greenfield renewable energy and BESS project development.
• Strong project management skills with significant commercial acumen demonstrated by a track record of past success measured by superior outcomes for all stakeholders
• Essential to have experience and an understanding of the project development environment and the interplay between regulatory requirements, contracts, operations and commercial outcomes
• Demonstrable skills in developing and managing teams of multidiscipline skilled personnel to achieve goals and objectives within restricted timeframes
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering or related business discipline
