Construction is soon to commence on the Uungula Wind Farm - a development of up to 93 wind turbines and associated infrastructure located on Wiradjuri Country, 14 km east of Wellington, NSW, within the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.

The Opportunity

The Environmental Advisor is responsible for providing high level environmental and sustainability advice and system management to ensure compliance with statutory obligations during construction. This position will require effective stakeholder liaison, managing and solving complex issues and ensuring fit for purpose solutions are offered. The role will be site based.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Environmental inspection, audits, and monitoring tasks
  • As the site based representative, engage with the construction and project teams on compliance and regulatory matters
  • Review and update environmental management plans and oversee implementation
  • Ensure accurate reporting to project teams and the environment manager as required
  • Respond to and ensure appropriate management of environmental incidents and nonconformances
  • Government agency liaison and maintenance of stakeholder relationships.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent and experience in operational or site based environmental advisory role
  • White Card, Drivers Licence
  • Ability to manage complex work programs and competing tasks and deadlines
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and stakeholder liaison skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to work autonomously
