About the role

You will work as part of a 24/7 team based in the UK responsible for providing centralised oversight and monitoring of both RES owned and RES operated renewable energy assets. As an OCC Operator, you will responsible for dispatch, monitoring, analysis and performance reporting of RES’ Australian managed assets.

You will ultimately report to the Control Centre Manager, while also working within the Australian Asset Management team. You will contribute to the maintenance and development of Control Centre systems and processes required to fulfil your operational control duties.

This is an entry-level role suitable for a passionate person looking to begin their renewable energy career, or for a person looking for a career change. This role will be integral to the success of Asset Management function at RES Australia, and the successful candidate will gain exposure to a range of functions and stakeholders within the business. The role offers a good mix of autonomous, self-driven work and supervision/mentoring, within a passionate and highly skilled team.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with AEMO, NSPs regarding planned and unplanned network events.
  • Monitor & control assets via SCADA Systems
  • Assist with reporting and analysis of plant performance and availability, short term electricity market conditions, network constraints.
  • Produce and maintain Control Centre procedures
  • Develop and maintain analytical and reporting tools using SQL.

Skills and Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary education or relevant industry experience
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with database queries such as SQL, VBA, Power Query/BI
  • An understanding of electricity generation infrastructure and the National Electricity Market (NEM)
  • CMS & SCADA experience advantageous
  • Business level written and verbal skills
