About the role

The Head of Health, Safety & Environment is a leadership role that is responsible for driving, influencing and continuously improving the health, safety and environment (HSE) culture at Tilt Renewables.

The role covers all parts of the business working closely with internal teams and with our external partners across operational assets and construction projects as well as supporting new development projects.

The Head of HSE leads the development, implementation and review of the Health, Safety and Environment strategy, systems, policies, plans and procedures across the business, including relevant risk and hazard management framework components, ensuring that all internal and external stakeholders understand, and are actively engaged with business HSE expectations and outcomes. This role will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to our ESG and wellbeing strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • This is a senior role in the company and is expected to demonstrate a high level of leadership by driving a health and safety culture, with open communication and engagement in wider company strategic goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the H&S Strategy, processes and systems including policies and initiatives.
  • Working with Tilt Renewables employees, service providers and other contractors to develop monitor and maintain systems to manage environmental, health and safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure the HSE culture, processes and outcomes are continually reviewed and opportunities for improvement are executed in alignment with strategic goals and risk management targets.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant discipline
  • Relevant mix of corporate and site-based experience, in an appropriate HSE leadership role
  • Experience in HSE system design and process safety improvements
  • Demonstratable working knowledge of the Australian HSE legislation and governance/risk management requirements
  • Understanding of the electricity generation sector, operations and infrastructure construction preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and driving a HSE culture across an organisation
  • Experience contributing to a corporate wellbeing program and ESG strategy desirable
