Contribute to striking the optimal balance between maximising our generation, retail and wholesale trading portfolio, whilst meeting our mandated risk appetite.

  • Lead the design and development of Hydro Tasmania’s integrated portfolio analytics function
  • Identify the optimum integrated position make up of Hydro Tasmania’s portfolio
  • Choose your preferred location, Hobart or Melbourne

About You:

With a deep knowledge of the National Electricity Market and understanding of wholesale trading and risk management, you have/are;

  • a degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
  • strong mathematical modelling skills
  • expert at Excel
  • advanced programming skills in Matlab, SQL, Python, R
  • a flair for presenting data in a convincing and easy to understand format
  • agile and resilient, able to quickly adapt to shifting priorities

About the role:

Working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders across our operations, finance, commercial and IT teams, you will contribute towards the design, execution and maintenance of an overarching integrated portfolio optimisation and risk management framework to determine the optimal balance between maximising our generation, retail and wholesale trading portfolio, whilst fulfilling our mandated risk appetite.

Work from either Hobart or Melbourne on an 18 month fixed term or permanent contract. Further information can be found on our website.
