The role:
Reporting to the Project Execution Lead, you will be a key member within the Engineering and Construction Department, responsible for coordinating and coaching project Teams to accomplish projects targets in terms of QHSE, Timeschedule, milestones and Capex expenditure. This role will be coordinating project management teams during the execution of renewable power plant projects (wind, solar, BESS and Hydrogen), through the application of best practices in project management. This role will also support construction departments with project execution, in cooperation with other Project Execution Managers, whilst providing local leadership to execution teams and supporting other E&C functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of project phases and activities, applying project management best practices, in compliance with safety, environment and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and coach Project Teams to ensure achievement of projects goals.
  • Promote the collection and sharing of lessons learned from project execution.
  • Coordinating project management teams during the execution of renewable power plant projects (wind, solar technologies, BESS and Hydrogen.
  • Issuing of periodical reports to monitor and control activities related to completion of different projects.
  • Management of end to end execution of projects, from taking responsibility for the project from the relevant Region/Country Business Development unit to the handover to the relevant Operation & Maintenance unit.
  • Coordinate project planning, programming, scheduling and budget management.
  • Assist in defining project specifications and engineering layout of the of the plant, ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, and with laws, regulations and safety standards on the site.
  • Provide advice on engineering and installation methods and procedures on site to achieve project requirements.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, local entities, partners and stakeholders.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by your employer.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in management of infrastructure projects within the energy industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a field related to solar power plant design within engineering and construction.
  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working in large international organization within matrix environment, with background in Planning, Contract management, Engineering and/or Construction.
  • Strong knowledge in solar farm design, operations and maintenance activities, contract management, SCADA and control systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Grid Connection processes and different state and territory grid networks.
  • PMP certification is considered advantageous.
  • Valid NSW Driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • The right to live and work in Sydney, Australia.
  • Significant experience in renewable infrastructure projects and strong knowledge in solar and wind design.
  • Deep knowledge of renewable energy business, energy markets (incl. regulation) and related technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of budgets and design for cost solutions (capex and opex evaluation).
  • Understanding of the prevalent solar and wind technologies, their applications and technical features.
  • Problem-solving and approaches problems through lateral thinking.
  • Ability to work with numerous departments in a matrix, global structure.
  • Ability to work in a group and autonomously.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and demonstrates initiative.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in time constrained situations and follow tight deadlines.
  • Availability to travel locally and internationally when required.
