The Opportunity

The Construction Safety Advisor will be site based during construction and provide safety advice, investigation and safety audit services for the project. The role will work collaboratively with internal customers and external service providers ensuring conformance with legal and contractual requirements and operational compliance with Safety Management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily, you will inspire and champion change and set the example to foster strong awareness and commitment towards safety, site wide. In addition, responsibilities will include:
  • Safety system and performance auditing of construction contract service providers in consultation with project managers, site representatives and the Safety Manager.
  • Provide advice and support to management, employees and contractors on the effective management of operational health and safety matters
  • Support the Safety Manager with investigations of safety incidents as required.Monitor and report operational safety to create awareness and improve overall behaviours.
  • Work closely with the Safety Manager to provide ongoing process and system improvements on construction projects to ensure quality health and safety outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in OHS and ICAM or equivalent incident investigation.White Card, Drivers Licence
  • Significant construction experience in a field or site based safety role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in auditing and investigation
