Allume Energy has developed a world first product, the SolShare, to allow a single solar system to be shared by multiple units in the same building. Allume Energy is continuing to grow our product development team as we gain traction in multiple markets around the world. Our product, the SolShare, spans the mechanical, electrical, electronics, firmware and web software engineering spheres.

We are looking for a driven and adaptable Senior Electronics Design Engineer to help Allume deliver the product and solutions that will allow us to scale globally.

The role will require the persistence to solve problems, the initiative to identify product improvement opportunities and the diligence to follow through on development and verification activities. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and development of new SolShare iterations with a focus on high volume manufacture, reliability & market fit, including both whole product & core-technology focus areas.
  • Development of in-house product testing capabilities for hardware and software development & verification.
  • Plan & conduct product verification testing to maintain compliance to standards in all target markets
  • Interface with Allume’s contract manufacturing partner for design transfer and production support
  • Supporting customer facing sales & service teams with problem solving & issue resolution


  • Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics or similar engineering degree
  • Experience with schematic design & layout of electrical - electronics systems (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Hands on experience in designing, prototyping & testing electronics hardware systems
  • Collaborative team-based approach with good communication skills
  • Resilience and adaptability to work in a fast moving and early stage business
  • Melbourne based

Nice to have

  • 5+ years experience in multi-disciplinary product development
  • Experience in electrical/electronics architecture design including considering tradeoffs
  • Experience in product verification, including EMC compliance, safety testing etc.
  • Experience in transfer to manufacture
  • Experience in electronics product design for high volume markets
  • Knowledge of and experience working with grid-connected electrical and/or renewable energy systems
  • Knowledge of and experience working with power electronics
  • Experience with mechanical CAD tools (Solidworks preferred)
  • Experience working in a risk-management & quality controlled environment
