Site Manager (Mt Gellibrand)

ACCIONA is a global company, leading in the development of regenerative infrastructure that creates a positive impact on society. An opportunity is now available for a Site Manager at Acciona’s fourth wind farm in Australia, the 132 MW Mt. Gellibrand Windfarm. As Site Manager, you will provides leadership and overall management of the the Wind Farm, its staff and contractors.

The Site Manager will manage direct activities of the Wind Farm and be responsible for matters of safety, security, performance, availability, generation, maintenance plans, costs (OPEX and CAPEX), quality and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the wind farm including safety, operations, environment, continuous improvement, facilities, and all compliance and regulatory obligations
• Manage all staff and contractors related to the wind farm. Ensure the development and growth of the site's own staff
• Be available to attend site outside of core working hours as and if required for emergencies, incidents or events
• Maximise availability, production and revenue from the wind farm
• Ensure compliance with the OPEX and CAPEX budget
• Manage community relations for the site and ensure relationships within the community are managed effectively
• Report on the performance of the wind farm against KPI’s and objectives
• Identify and track improvement initiatives for energy asset performance
• Ensure that at all times the site Computer Maintenance Management System is maintained and utilised
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed on time and within budget, to ensure the life extension of the site
• Ensure asset reliability best practice is followed based to reduce downtime and costs and seek opportunities to improve sites
• Ensure compliance with the GPS and any obligation with AEMO and Powercor, in coordination with the head office in Australia
• Ensure that a strong working relationship is maintained with Head office in Australia and Spain to ensure quality, cost and reliability of the wind farm is optimal
• Instill a culture of safety, quality, problem solving, and application of scientific methods, continuous improvement and project management methodology in operations

Required Skills and Competencies

• Full Australian Work Rights
• Qualification in a relevant technical or engineering discipline5+years’ experience in asset management or similar
• Generation asset experience (beneficial)
• Previous leadership skills and the capability to direct, motivate and manage a team of employees.
• Understanding of Australian regulatory reporting and compliance requirements for generators (beneficial)
• Experience preparing and managing annual operational expenditure budgets
• Experience in supervision of external service providers
• Sound understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, equipment, communications and control systems as related to energy generation assets
• Applied knowledge on reporting systems
