Seeking a talented solar designer on a part-time or freelance basis (with the potential to become fulltime if interested).

Alinga Energy Consulting is a small but growing company which needs to be built on a foundation of great people, trust and mutual benefit. It's time to start building that team.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design of solar PV systems for solar developers and installers - from residential scale to utility scale, around Australia. Includes panel placement, voltage drop calculations, protection etc.
  • Production of design drawing packages including single line diagrams.
  • Submitting connection applications to the relevant networks.
  • Some data analysis and processing of energy meter data.
  • Research into renewable energy technology options and available products.
  • Liaising directly with clients to understand project requirements, deliver status reports and outcomes.
  • Contributions to feasibility study reports.
  • Potential to use Homer Energy software package to undertake economic analysis for energy feasibility studies.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Solar system design experience (commercial or utility scale) - any software package.
  • Clean Energy Council design accreditations (or willingness & pre-requisites to obtain).
  • Relevant formal qualification - bachelor of electrical engineering, bachelor of engineering technology (electrical), associate degree of engineering (electrical). Mechanical also considered.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken.
  • High attention to detail, good self-management and ability to work independently.
  • A positive attitude and motivation to deliver high quality work.
  • Homer Energy experience, tender writing skills and data analysis would be highly regarded.

This position can be entirely remote so regionally located applicants are welcomed. At this stage the workload is part-time and can be undertaken on an employee or contract basis.
