Clean Energy Open Day 2021

Clean Energy Open Day is a chance for the Australian public to get up close and personal with renewable energy.

If you've ever wondered how a solar panel makes electricity, wanted to see inside a wind turbine or learn about the history of hydropower, then Clean Energy Open Day is the perfect chance to have your questions answered.

This year five projects across four states are opening their gates to the public for a day of fun and informative activities. Find out about the events taking place in your state and get involved online by following along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Date 28 November 2021
Time 11:00am - 3:00pm

Mortlake south wind farm

Mortlake South Wind Farm

Open Day location: 1515 Terang-Mortlake Road, Kolora, Vic

Time: 11.00 am – 3.00 pm

How to book:

Join the ACCIONA team to take a look around the recently constructed Mortlake South Wind Farm. This is your first chance to get up close and personal with the 35 wind turbines. ACCIONA will be running bus tours from nearby towns Mortlake and Terang, which will take you right underneath the turbines.

After the tour, spend some time getting stuck into food and drinks supplied by local community groups, performances from local musicians and kid's activities. There will also be plenty of renewable energy experts on hand to answer your questions.

About the project

Mortlake South Wind Farm is ACCIONA's fifth wind farm in Australia. The project will produce enough electricity to power up to 117,000 homes annually.

The wind farm is located in south-west Victoria, 5km south of Mortlake and 7km north-west of Terang. The 35 wind turbines are hosted by 12 farming families. These farms will continue to graze their cattle around the turbines and run their dairy operations for the life of the project.

More than 120 jobs were created during construction, with ten jobs ongoing for the life of the project.

More information about the project can be found on Mortlake South Wind Farm’s website.
