Learn how to use Sunulator solar-battery analysis software

The Clean Energy Council is running a number of four-hour training sessions on how to competently use Sunulator, a free, detailed feasibility tool that allows analysis of solar-battery system performance. These sessions will be facilitated by Andrew Reddaway from the Alternative Technology Association.

This training is initially being offered across two dates in Melborne, with the view to roll out further dates subject to popularity.

  • Have a sound grasp of the fundamentals of navigating the software
  • Develop reports and data that can be submitted to customers (and comply with installation 'documentation' requirements)
  • Understand the issues that affect the financial attractiveness of solar-battery systems
  • Complete a feasibility analysis for a solar-battery system (with demo data)
  • Gain skills and confidence to initiate and progress solar-battery projects
  • Understand how to optimise the size of a solar-battery system

Attendees will receive:

  • Skills and knowledge to successfully use the Sunulator software
  • Training delivered with low trainer-to-attendee ratio
  • Lunch, tea and coffee

Attendee numbers are limited to 18 per session and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees will require the following:

  • Laptop
  • Microsoft Excel 2007 or later and system permissions to run macros etc.
  • Some experience with spreadsheets
  • Some knowledge of electricity bills/data (e.g. tariffs, kW vs kWh, etc.)

This training session is worth 35 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points. Please email accreditation@cleanenergycouncil.org.au if you are unsure of your eligibility.

About Sunulator

Sunulator is a free, detailed feasibility tool that allows analysis of solar-battery system performance. Unlike other solar calculators, it simulates generation, consumption and battery management data on a half-hourly basis over an entire year; and subsequently calculates project feasibility over a 30-year time frame. It is the only freely available tool that can model the energy and economic performance of solar-battery systems for homes and businesses.

Sunulator has previously been promoted in partnership with the City of Sydney, the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and The Mullum Trust.
