    The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) is on track to decide, and announce, the outcome of the installer and designer accreditation scheme application process in February 2024. The CEC has not applied and so, to support a smooth transition to new provider(s), we have introduced two key changes to CEC accreditation for those planning to submit a new application before February 2024.

    In the section below you will find information on the early cut off dates for new applications and shorter accreditation periods at significantly reduced fees.

    Initial application

    You can only apply for one type of accreditation in your initial application.

    • Standard provisional accreditation lasts 3 months. We will extend this term till April 2024 for smooth transition of your accreditation to the future provider (s)
    Upgrade to full accreditation

    $50 for every month of accreditation until April 2024.

    • The CEC will continue to accept all upgrade applications until 22 December 2023 as we need 6 weeks to review an application.

    Annual renewal

    Once you hold full accreditation you will need to renew your accreditation annually.

    • If you wish to extend your accreditation on a month-by-month basis, we can offer this until 25 January 2024.
    • Post this period, you will need to contact the future provider (s) for your accreditation needs.

    Adding additional accreditation types

    Once you hold full accreditation, you can add additional types of accreditation.

    Extensions

    If you do not have enough time to complete the requirements to complete an application or renew your accreditation, you may be able to apply for an extension (one-month extension up to a maximum of three months).
