Members have the opportunity to engage with and contribute their insights and expertise to the work of the Clean Energy Council through a number of committees. These committees advise the Clean Energy Council on policy and industry development issues in specific areas of the clean energy industry.

Clean Energy Council committees bring together leading stakeholders to discuss the key issues and initiatives for the clean energy industry.

As a member, you may be interested in joining a committee to:

  • provide technical advice and input into policy positions and industry development projects
  • share information and network with other Clean Energy Council members
  • raise and discuss ideas and initiatives
  • meet with government representatives and other key stakeholders to discuss industry-specific issues.

The following outlines the current Clean Energy Council committees.

Eligibility for Committees

The Policy and Advocacy Committee is open to Sponsoring members. The other CEC committees are open to Sponsoring, Corporate and Professional Services members or by invitation only.

Policy and Advocacy Advisory Committee

This committee is the main policy-setting body of the Clean Energy Council. Its role is to advise the Clean Energy Council and ensure a balanced approach is applied to develop positions – taking into account all technology areas.

Distributed Energy Leadership Forum

The Distributed Energy Leadership Forum is the CEC’s key decision-making body for the distributed energy sector. It is responsible for recommending the strategy of the CEC concerning distributed energy over a two to ten-year timeframe.

Clean Energy Investment Roundtable

The Clean Energy Investment Roundtable serves as an exclusive discussion forum for CEC members with direct involvement with investment in utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Working groups

Working groups are often set up by a directorate to discuss a specific topic related to a technology or policy issue. These working groups provide members (and in some instances, expert non-members) with a forum to discuss issues and guide the direction of the Clean Energy Council.
