Australian Clean Energy Summit to be bigger and better in 2020 with Energy Next

After record attendances for the Australian Clean Energy Summit and the NAB Gala Dinner in Sydney this year, the Clean Energy Council will expand the event in partnership with Reed Exhibitions Australia in 2020.

The Australian Clean Energy Summit is a policy and finance conference that brings together more than 800 executives, decision-makers, project developers, financiers and government officials to discuss the latest opportunities and challenges in renewable energy and energy storage. From 2020, the event will be accompanied by an extensive exhibition run by Reed Exhibitions Australia, called Energy Next.

The exhibition will showcase the latest clean energy technology and run alongside the summit from 2020, at ICC Sydney.

Clean Energy Council Chief Executive Kane Thornton explained Energy Next would strengthen the sense of occasion for delegates of one of the industry’s premier events.

“We feature many of the leading voices and key players affecting the clean energy industry at the summit, and it will be fantastic to bring our delegates an expanded exhibition area in Energy Next, which showcases many of the latest technologies and solutions available,” Mr Thornton said.

“We are an industry which is always focused on the future, whether that’s hydrogen technology, exporting renewable energy via an undersea cable, or new nation-building projects like Snowy 2.0 and Hydro Tasmania’s Battery of the Nation. The rate of innovation in all parts of the sector is extraordinary.

“I look forward to welcoming hundreds of industry leaders to the 2020 Clean Energy Summit and will be excited to see what’s on offer, from the insights of the speakers to the Clean Energy Council Awards, the Gala Dinner and, now, the huge Energy Next exhibition which will run alongside it. It’s also one of the few industry events committed to increasing the gender diversity of speakers and speaking panels, and it is great to see the event going from strength to strength.”

The 2020 Australian Clean Energy Summit and Energy Next will run at ICC Sydney from 14-15 July 2020.
