Careers for Net Zero is coming to regional Queensland in 2024

The Clean Energy Council is excited to announce that the Careers for Net Zero Roadshow is coming to Toowoomba, Gladstone and Townsville in August 2024.

Australia’s future clean economy will bring with it thousands of exciting local career and training opportunities for students, graduates, career changers and job seekers of all ages, particularly in regional Queensland.

This roadshow will provide attendees with the latest information about clean economy careers, including renewable energy, critical minerals and green manufacturing, as well as the opportunity to connect directly with local employers.

“Australia’s journey to net-zero is picking up pace and regional Queensland is the engine room of renewable energy potential,” said Clean Energy Council Chief Executive, Kane Thornton.

“The Careers for Net Zero QLD Roadshow will provide the next generation of leaders within the clean economy with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an exciting new era.”

The Clean Energy Council and Energy Efficiency Council, with support from the Queensland Government, is hosting the Careers for Net Zero QLD Roadshow in three regional Queensland locations this August – registration and entry to each event is free:

  • Toowoomba: Tuesday, August 6 2024
  • Gladstone: Friday, August 9 2024
  • Townsville: Wednesday, August 14 2024

Each event will feature:

  • Local industry presentations showcasing clean economy projects and career opportunities in each region
  • Networking opportunities with representatives from leading employers
  • Information on clean economy career pathways, training and scholarship programs
  • Addresses from government and industry leaders about regional Queensland’s strong future in the new clean economy
