Empowering Everyone - a closer look at gender

Did you know that women make up about 32 per cent of the RE workforce, compared to 22 per cent in the broader energy sector?

However, women’s participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) jobs within renewables is far lower than in administrative roles.

In our special International Women’s Day snapshot on gender, we take a closer look at gender results from Empowering Everyone, the first-ever survey into diversity within the Australian renewable energy industry.

We hope that by highlighting the positives alongside the shortfalls, the industry can develop strategies to create a more inclusive clean energy sector. The benefits of building equity in gender and female leadership will go beyond well beyond the renewables industry.
