First Speakers Guide for Women in Renewables to change the face of clean energy events

The Clean Energy Council is proud to launch the inaugural Women in Renewable’s Speakers Guide, a showcase of leading female industry professionals that will transform the way events are planned and delivered.

Clean Energy Council Chief Executive Kane Thornton said the Speakers Guide was a clear next step in helping to make the renewable energy industry a leader in gender diversity.

“We created the guide to showcase the breadth, expertise and knowledge offered by women in the sector," Mr Thornton said.

“Too often event planners put all-male panels down to the fact that they couldn’t find a female to fit the bill. With nationwide speakers from wide and diverse areas of expertise, the speakers guide will provide immediate solutions for event organisers.

“The guide is a living document and will be updated regularly to reflect the growing talent in the industry. We encourage women to submit a profile and put themselves forward for speaking opportunities that will not only elevate their careers but strengthen the industry through greater diversity.

“The Clean Energy Council has long had a policy of no single-gender panels or sessions at our events, and I look forward to seeing more energy industry events adopting similar measures,” he said.

Speakers profiled in the Speakers Guide do not reflect or represent the Clean Energy Council’s views and position unless speaking on behalf of the Clean Energy Council. We encourage you to make your own enquiries into the views and appropriateness of any speaker you choose to engage.

The next edition of the Women in Renewables Speakers Guide will be released in time for International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March. We invite female speakers to submit profiles by 15 February.
