Registrations are now open for the Clean Energy Council’s 2019 Large-scale Solar Forum in Brisbane, as another huge year dawns for the thriving solar industry.
Clean Energy Council Chief Executive Kane Thornton said this year’s forum will see technical experts from all corners of the industry being brought together under one roof at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in May.
“The solar industry has been fortunate to attract passionate professionals committed to constant improvement, and events like this help solar specialists to stay at the forefront of developments in a dynamic sector,” Mr Thornton said.
“More than 50 large solar farms are already under construction or due to start soon across the country, adding more than 9000 MW of new renewable power to the grid and creating almost 9000 new jobs in the process. Only a few years ago large-scale solar was an emerging technology; now it’s one of the lowest-cost types of energy generation we can build.
“With so much interest in all the latest developments, the Large-scale Solar Forum is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for technical solar professionals to network, share knowledge and learn from the industry’s best. Tickets for last year’s event sold out well in advance so I urge you to get in early to secure your place. This year’s event will be opened by Queensland Energy Minister Dr Anthony Lynham,” he said.
The Large-scale Solar Forum will be held on Thursday 16 May 2019 from 8.30am – 6.00pm at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Technical conference sessions during the day will be followed by networking drinks at the conclusion of formal proceedings.
