New Learning Hub course focuses on system strength

After launching the new education platform Learning Hub last month, the Clean Energy Council is thrilled to release its next course, System Strength. Curated at an intermediate level, this course is ideal for those who are already working in the clean energy industry and play a key role in setting up renewable energy systems.

With the rapid transition to non-synchronous generation, system strength has emerged as a major challenge to power system stability. This course focuses on the concept of system strength as it relates to converter-driven stability, which is essential to a secure and stable power system that can withstand voltage disturbances and unexpected events.

On completion, learners can look forward to knowing how to:

  • identify the challenges in maintaining power system stability
  • describe system strength
  • explain the role of system strength in supporting wind and solar
  • discuss how managing system strength supports broader system stability
  • explain how synchronous condensers and grid-forming inverters can increase system strength.

If you or someone you know or work with is keen to develop knowledge and understanding on system strength, this course is available online to anyone, anywhere.

What is Learning Hub?

Learning Hub is a suite of online courses designed to equip the industry with high-quality professional development resources. Written and developed by Clean Energy Council and industry experts, each course provides industry recognised micro-credentials in the form of a digital badge.

Discover, learn, and earn your digital badge, here.

The Clean Energy Council Industry Education Framework explains how digital badges work within our education offerings.

Please note: The digital badge credentials earned on this learning platform are a unique training outcome and do not contribute to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points for accredited installers or designers.
