Four positions on the CEC Board are available and will be voted on at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 26 November 2020. Alex Beckitt
Head of Strategic Policy, Hydro Tasmania
With nearly two decades of renewable energy policy, national and international advocacy, Alex brings experience across multiple government and industry levels. Alex is strongly committed to a highly successful and sustainable CEC - on the Board contributing to effective organisational governance and delivering a vibrant strategy.
Alex is focussed on continually building our industry profile, particularly through leading effective policy and regulatory change, interfacing with political, technical, commercial, and regulatory stakeholders. Increasing the share of renewable energy and thereby the commercial opportunities for all CEC members is a priority.
Alex is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Cameron Garnsworthy
Managing Director, juwi Renewable Energy
Cameron has 20 years of global experience spanning the development, construction and operation of solar, wind and battery technologies, providing a good insight into the many challenges involved for the clean energy industry to continue to develop and thrive.
Cameron is Managing Director of juwi Renewable Energy, an integrated renewables company which has delivered more than 5 GW of renewable projects globally and is also a leader in delivering hybrid renewable projects that combine solar, wind and battery technologies.
Previously, Cameron was the Managing Director of FRV Australia, an elected Board Member of the CEC and General Manager (Business Development) at EnergyAustralia.
Jenny Paradiso
Managing Director, Suntrix
Jenny is Managing Director of Suntrix, a national solar PV and battery storage company with head office in South Australia.
Jenny joined the CEC board in February 2016 and has contributed with insight from the solar PV retail industry. She represents the views and needs of solar companies nationally, providing a point-of-view that reflects their segment of the industry.
Jenny has won a number of business awards, is passionate about business and about Renewable Energy and has represented the solar industry on many occasions in workshops with government and distributors.
Patrick Matweew
CEO, Redback Technologies Holdings
Patrick has more than 15 years’ experience in the solar and energy industries in Europe, the USA, China, Singapore and Australia.
Patrick is focussed on establishing and growing business in the residential and commercial segments and has a broad understanding of the industry value chain, ranging from raw materials to customer motivation.
He has a proven track record as an advocate for quality, transparency and consumer protection, and is a polyglot ambassador for international collaboration and cooperation for environmental protection.
Patrick is also a Director of the Australian Power Institute, focussing on diversity and equal opportunity in engineering careers in the energy sector.
Thomas Scott-Morey
CEO, Collgar Wind Farm
FIEAust, CPEng, MBA, BA (Cantab)
Thomas is passionate about having CEC board representation in Western Australia.
Thomas is a senior energy executive with 30 years’ commercial experience and specific expertise in energy, project finance and construction.
Thomas is currently the CEO of Collgar Wind Farm, which at 222MW is WA’s largest renewable energy facility.
Before moving to Australia, Thomas worked for major utilities successfully overseeing equity investments of US$1.5 billion, in projects encompassing more than 4GW of private power across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Prior to that, Thomas was an investment banker in New York, Hong Kong and London.
Warwick Johnston
Managing Director, Sunwiz
Warwick Johnston founded SunWiz in 2009 with the mission to grow the Australian solar industry through services that enable solar business success. He is a long-standing advocate of solar power and energy storage at all scales, and a strong believer in advancing industry integrity measures. He is deeply committed to decarbonising our energy supply.
Warwick has served on the board of the Clean Energy Council since 2016. He has held representative positions within the CEC directorates, SEIA, APVI, ANZSES and was an Australian representative to the IEA. He also holds a masters degree in Renewable Energy.
