New Chloe Munro Scholarship round opens for emerging women leaders

The Clean Energy Council has opened the 2022 round of the Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership today.

The Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership is delivered in partnership with our official Education Provider, Women & Leadership Australia and focuses on supporting women who are emerging leaders in the fields of clean energy, energy management and carbon abatement.

“The inaugural round in 2021 attracted high calibre applicants across a wide variety of roles who have since undertaken or started training with Women & Leadership Australia,” said Clean Energy Council Chief Executive, Kane Thornton.

“The benefits in creating greater equity in leadership will go beyond the renewables industry, and diversity in decision-making will result in better outcomes for everyone.”

Skills development, knowledge-sharing and mentorship play an essential part in improving the representation of women in leadership roles.

Recipients from the inaugural round are already applying the newfound knowledge from their studies and have formed strong networks to ultimately help improve gender balance in the clean energy industry.

“For me, the most valuable experience I have gotten out of the course has been having a dedicated time and space with a community of like-minded women to prompt meaningful conversations and reflections on leadership,” said Gina Zheng, a scholarship recipient.

This year’s intake will include three places in the Executive Ready course, a seven-month development program for middle to senior leaders and seven places in the Leading Edge program, a four-month development program for early career leaders and managers.

The Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership has been established through the leadership of the Clean Energy Council and is supported by our partners ACEN Australia, Australian Energy Market Operator, Australian Renewable Energy Agency, Carbon Market Institute, Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Energy Efficiency Council, Goldwind, GreenCollar, Hydro Tasmania, Iberdrola Australia, Monash Energy Institute, Sentient Impact Group and the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

Applications are now open. More information can be found here: Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership | Clean Energy Council
