Statement on NSW Government's home battery incentive program announcement

Please attribute the following statement to Clean Energy Council Policy Director - Distributed Energy, Con Hristodoulidis:

“The announcement of new incentives for home batteries under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme is a major step forward in empowering NSW households and businesses in lowering their annual energy bills and playing an important role in the clean energy transition.

“It is fantastic to see a strong focus from the NSW Government in ensuring that behind-the-meter batteries are more accessible to households, building on the continual success of Australia’s world-leading uptake of rooftop solar.

“The Clean Energy Council has led calls for the implementation of a Home Battery Saver Scheme with a focus on incentivising orchestration into the grid, so that everyone wins from a cleaner, cheaper and fairer energy system.”
