On Sunday 21 October, wind farms around Australia will be throwing open their gates to the public for a range of fun and informative open day events.
Wind energy is playing a major part as Australia transitions towards a renewable energy future, and so far in 2018 has wind contributed approximately $2 billion in investment and created over 2,000 jobs.
Wind Farm Open Day is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with Australia’s clean energy future and support the local communities where these wind farms are located. Open Day events will range from bus tours and community events, to a fun run through a wind farm.
Nine wind farms have already signed up to open their gates across NSW, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia and we are thrilled to have the Australian Wind Alliance supporting the day as well. The wind farms currently involved include:
Each wind farm will be running a range of activities for the community and families. For more information on each wind farm and details on how you can be involved visit cleanenergycouncil.org.au/openday. More details on each activity will continue to be added to our website.
