COP28

At COP28, countries from across the world gathered to agree further action on climate change. COP28 was an opportunity for the world to take stock of its progress on the Paris Agreement, and ideally make meaningful progress on the fight against climate emergency, with the seriousness and urgency required.

The Clean Energy Council was on the ground in Dubai, with Chief Executive, Kane Thornton, and Policy Director for Decarbonisation, Anna Freeman, meeting with global leaders and decision makers, representing Australia’s clean energy superpower ambitions. The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly referred to as COP28, was the 28th United Nations Climate Change conference, held from 30 November until 12 December 2023, at the Expo City, Dubai.  The conference has been held annually since the first UN climate agreement in 1992.
