Congratulations to the winners in the 2017 Solar Design and Installation Awards. Read on to find out more about the winners and the finalists in the following categories:
Working for Leeson Solar, Peter designed and installed a 7.14kW PV system on the curved corrugated roof of the guard house at one of Melbourne’s busiest ports. The curved corrugated roof created many barriers, which were overcome in the design and installation process.
Working for Todae Solar, Jamie and Edie designed and installed a 99.4 kW ground-mounted installation which made great use of an east-west axis to maximise the amount of power available during the day.
Working for EnviroGroup, Matthew designed and installed a 355 kW solar power system at the Burder Industries manufacturing facility in Wangaratta, Victoria. The panel installation spelled the name ‘Burder’ across the roof of the facility.
Working for Self Sufficiency Supplies, Brian designed and installed a solar system at a crematorium. After investigating the options of a 3 km power line upgrade or a diesel generator, the crematorium decided to install a stand-alone solar power system – something which had never been done before.
Working for Towards Tomorrow Energy, Peter and Jeremy designed and installed a system which incorporated one of the first SMA hybrid systems installed in Australia.
