Wind Industry Forum video series

The Clean Energy Council recently held its fifth annual Wind Industry Forum in Melbourne.

After a record year for renewables in 2017 and the growth in large-scale renewable energy projects expected to continue in 2018, it’s no surprise the event sold out with more than 450 wind industry professionals coming together to share knowledge, exchange ideas and celebrate the industry’s achievements.

If you weren’t able to make it to the event, never fear. We’ve put together a short series of videos going behind the scenes to give you the latest insights from experts in the wind industry.

Behind the scenes with Victorian Renewable Energy Advocate Simon Corbell

Simon Corbell has been one of the leading voices for renewable energy in Australia. The Clean Energy Council’s Chief Executive Kane Thornton caught up with Simon to hear his views on the latest trends and outlook for the industry.

The importance of social licence and shared benefits

Speakers from the Wind Industry Forum shared insights on the importance of working closely with local communities when developing wind farms, what the industry has learned and the outcomes of a new report the Clean Energy Council released at the event which can be downloaded from the following page.

Emerging trends in corporate power purchase agreements

Australia is seeing a lot of exciting initiatives to allow companies and buying groups to invest in new wind and solar farms. Hear from speakers at the 2018 Wind Industry Forum discuss the trends for corporate power purchase agreements including an example from the Melbourne Renewable Energy Project.

Presentation slides from the event are also available on the Wind Industry Forum page.

Two other Clean Energy Council conferences are coming up soon. The Clean Energy Council’s Large-scale Solar Industry Forum is being held in Brisbane on 15 May and early bird tickets are available for the Australian Clean Energy Summit being held in Sydney on 31 July – 1 August. Book your spot to join your industry peers at Australia's leading renewable energy conferences.
