Currently, for a small-scale solar, wind or hydro system to be eligible for STCs, it must be designed and installed by someone who is accredited by the Clean Energy Council.
On 17 December, 2022, updated regulations governing the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme came into force.
These changes affect the accreditation of installers and designers. The Clean Energy Council has made the decision not to provide an application to continue to be the Installer Accrediting body for Australia.
The Clean Energy Council recognises the crucial importance of Installer Accreditation to the healthy functioning of our industry, and we are committed to working collaboratively with the Clean Energy Regulator to achieve the best outcome for consumers and installers.
The Clean Energy Regulator is currently assessing applications for new scheme providers. For now, the program will operate exactly as it has until a decision is made by the Clean Energy Regulator on the outcome of the application process.
